A Victory for AHF and CA Non-profits

We have some great news. AB 1938, a completely one-sided attempt to silence non-profit advocacy efforts, will not continue in the CA State Assembly.

This is a victory for first amendment rights throughout California and beyond. Because of staff support, we came together, rallied, called, tweeted, and it paid off!

Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, Chair of the CA State Assembly Appropriations Committee, stood with grassroots organizations, and as a result, the bill will not move forward!

AHF continues to advocate for affordable housing and protect low-income tenants from predatory corporate landlords and developers.

Our vital work continues because of your efforts!

This victory sends a clear message to the corporate interests attempting to silence AHF, non-profits, and tenants’ rights groups: together, we are stronger than corporate greed.

Thank you to all AHF employees who spoke out and took action!
