🚨They Tried to Cut HIV Drug Coverage… We Fought Back!

We are proud to share an important and encouraging update, a major victory for HIV care in Florida:

On March 24, 2026, Ron DeSantis signed emergency legislation restoring access to life-saving HIV medications for thousands of individuals across the state. This action reverses recent eligibility cuts to the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and ensures that those who rely on this critical support can continue receiving the care they need.

With approximately $31 million in emergency funding, eligibility has been reinstated to 400% of the federal poverty level, protecting coverage for over 10,000 residents. Beginning April 1, the program will also transition to directly providing medications to clients, helping maintain continuity of treatment.

This progress reflects the power of advocacy, community voices, and a shared commitment to care. While this measure is temporary through June 30, it represents a meaningful step forward in protecting access to essential HIV services.
