Dear AHF staff,

All work and no play makes… well you know the rest!

You all work hard every day to fight for what’s right, and the work you do saves lives. The value you bring to fulfilling the mission of AHF should be celebrated more often. Although it can be difficult to find the time to celebrate yourselves and connect with your teammates, we’re making it a priority.

You’re encouraged to be nimble in your roles at AHF, and now it’s our turn. We’re switching gears to advocate for more fun at work!

AHF Staff + Fun = 

And look, we know that being told to have fun may feel like another task put on your to-do list but this isn't a chore. You spend a lot of time at work, so for a change of pace, why not add some fun into the equation.

Teams and departments should try a new activity together once every quarter. Go bowling, explore a museum, watch a movie, or work together to escape a haunted ghost ship. Just have more fun and share more laughs with your team.

There are a lot of ways to have fun, but for our purposes, activities that are relaxing, encourage creativity, or facilitate team bonding are most appropriate. Managers will be responsible for planning a fun, off-site event for their teams and departments on a quarterly basis, dependent on regional approval.

When does the fun start?

Immediately! Department leaders will work out the details of the off-site events, but they need your help. If you have an idea for a fun activity, share it with them! This initiative is being pushed out for AHF Staff, and no one knows you and your teams better than you do. Please let your managers know what your ideas are and take turns leading the quarterly fun.

"Do I have to participate?"

Short answer, no. You will always have the option to opt out, and if you change your mind, just opt back in. No obligation, no guilt.
