AHF’s housing affordability ballot measure, the Rental Affordability Act, has gotten creative to keep up their momentum and encourage support of rent control in California.
With the outbreak of COVID-19 and lockdowns in place, they’ve launched a series of virtual events to entertain their supporters and fundraise to continue the fight for rent control.
Their next event, “Comic Isolation” with comedian Flame Monroe, of the Tiffany Haddish Presents series is fast approaching this Saturday, April 25th. All you have to do to join is make a small contribution to the Rental Affordability Act and you’ll be sent the link to the live stream. Click here to donate and join them for some real talk around COVID-19 (and who knows what else).
The Rental Affordability Act has hosted other successful virtual events during this time of social distancing. Their first “Comic Isolation Event” featured hilarious local comedians on a live-streamed YouTube channel. They also hosted a virtual dance party with DJ Ninja, a “Slay the Rent” drag show with local drag queens, and have plans to host many more virtual fundraising experiences as social distancing orders remain in place.
