On January 15th, AHF had a presence in Martin Luther King Jr. Day events across the country. In Los Angeles, mobilizers and staff marched in the MLK Day parade wearing artwork that read, “AIDS is a Civil Rights Issue”. As African American and Latino communities continue to be disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS in the United States, AHF advocates and its MLK parade contingents continue to promote this message nationwide. Our goal is to remind communities across the country that access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS should be a universal human right.
