Out of the Closet (OTC) opened a new Orlando, FL location on February 27, 2021. The Orlando OTC opening brings the total number of Out of the Closet Thrift Stores to 21 stores nationwide.
The new Orlando Out of the Closet includes an AHF Pharmacy and, like all other OTC’s will provide free rapid-result HIV testing. This is the first OTC serving the Orlando community, and we’re excited to provide additional care in the area. Orlando has a higher prevalence of HIV than the state of Florida and the US as a whole. The rate of people living with HIV in Orlando is 81% higher than that of the U.S. population, according to AIDSVu. Though these statistics are unfortunate, they make Orlando a great location to do the most good and carry out our mission.
The grand opening included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, discounts on merchandise, and a raffle for a free Vespa scooter. Out of the Closet, Orlando is located at 1349 N. Mills Avenue Orlando, FL.
